Programmes

Four programmes, one path

We sponsor and mentor four programmes, each pitched at a different age. Together they form an unbroken path from primary school to professional life.

Ages 5 to 13

EarlyAct

School-based service clubs in primary schools. Children plan and run small projects for their own school and community, with a teacher advisor and a Rotarian mentor.

  • Runs inside the school day
  • Teacher-led, Rotarian-mentored
  • First taste of planning a project end to end

Ages 12 to 18

Interact

Secondary school clubs that carry out two service projects a year — one that helps the school or community, one that promotes international understanding.

  • Two projects a year, minimum
  • Members elect their own officers
  • Direct pipeline into Rotaract

Ages 18 to 30

Rotaract

The Rotaract Club of Savanna-la-Mar is our sponsored club for young men and women. Community service, professional development and leadership — plus a social calendar the senior club envies.

  • Meets 3rd and 4th Wednesdays, 6:30 pm
  • Hotel Commingle, Savanna-la-Mar
  • Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Savanna-la-Mar

RYLA and Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is an intensive leadership camp we sponsor students to attend. Youth Exchange sends young people abroad for a term or a year, and brings students here.

  • Club-sponsored RYLA places each year
  • Long and short-term exchange
  • District 7020 administers placements

Safeguarding

Youth protection

Every Rotarian and volunteer who works with young people in our programmes is screened and trained under Rotary International's youth protection policy. Allegations of abuse or harassment are reported and acted on. If you have a concern about any of our youth programmes, contact the club secretary directly, or the District 7020 youth protection officer.
